The Industry History Project needs your assistance. Below are the four main areas in which the project could use your help. If you are interested in participating in or contributing to any of the below areas, please contact us.

Interview Subjects
The History Committee is seeking the names and contact information of notable industry figures who should be interviewed for this project. Please submit names with as much contact information as possible to .

Financial Support
A special fund has been established to accept tax-deductible contributions for the sole purpose of this project. Income that may be generated from this project will be used to continue and expand the scope of the project. To make a contribution, please see the instructions below.

 

Archival Materials
The History Committee is seeking photographs and other archival materials to illustrate the history. Please send paper materials to the project's mailing address below, or contact to discuss the submission of other items.

Interviewers
Applications are being accepted from volunteers interested in conducting taped interviews from an identified list of over two hundred notable industry figures. Anyone interested in becoming an interviewer is asked to submit a resume or brief bio to the project's mailing address below. Potential interviewers may be required to conduct a sample interview.

Interviewers will be required to:
- conduct interviews either in person or over the phone
- research available materials for interview preparation
- work with the Committee to establish equipment needs
- acquire visual materials to illustrate the interviews

Interviewers may be invited to travel to major industry conferences and trade shows including LDI, USITT Conference & Stage Expo, and the Broadway Lighting Master Classes, or the location of an interview where required.

The History Committee will provide:
- a list of interview subjects
- a formal introduction to the interview subjects
- guidance in finding background materials for interviews
- a suggested interview outline
- recording equipment
- funding for approved expenses
- transcription services

All materials collected as a result of this project are the property of the History Committee and the interviewer retains no rights to the materials. The Committee, upon the request of the interviewer, may grant approval for the use of materials for academic purposes only.
